Just thinking of Change.
Everything changes. I have long thought that everything seems to change every five to seven (5 to 7) years, even if we don’t always notice it. And when I write ‘everything,’ I mean to each of us as individuals, mostly. I haven’t really checked against world events, but I would bet that at some level this is true there, too.

For change, I include changing jobs, changing where you live, or even just how you live. Friends move, you change jobs, a parent dies, you meet new friends, you lose friends. Marriage and divorce may not be the change, but they may be close to one. I think that if you look askew at your last 10 years you will see this same subtle pattern. I don’t have the resources to see if this is as large as I think it is, be it sociologically, psychologically, or historically. And when I say ‘askew’, I mean without thinking about how you were effected by it. Think of a close friend instead, if that helps depersonalize it.

Your mileage may vary, of course.

Let me know in the comments if you agree.
